Album

Higher Truth is the fourth and final studio album by American rock musician Chris Cornell. The album was released on September 18, 2015. Cornell chose producer Brendan O'Brien as a collaborator to create a more intimate sound for the record. On recording drums for the album, Cornell has stated that most of the songs with drums are either loops that I made electronically or that Brendan basically recorded just playing a little drum kit he had, Cornell says. We just made loops, layered things and. Higher Truth. Chris Cornell - Higher Truth 2015. To favorites 20 Download album. Listen album. Alternative Rock. Chris Cornell. Its been more than 15 years, and sleepy-eyed Chris Cornell still hasnt woken from the dream of the 90s. That isnt necessarily a bad thing. Plenty of icons remain smitten with the decade in which they ruled some portion of the pop cultural conversation, even if they continue to hurtle around the sun just like the rest of us. But theres a wax museum quality to the Soundgarden frontman that extends beyond his glazed-over expression and enduring good looks. Accordingly, Higher Truth achieved the balance of power and intimacy Cornell had been seeking all along. On release, the album followed his three previous solo outings into the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 and it was also cited as a significant artistic coup by most of the major music publications, with Rolling Stone waxing lyrical over the records arena-sized porch reveries and The Independent nailing it when they proclaimed Higher Truth to be simply one of. the richest, most beautiful collections of songs in his oeuvre. Higher Truth can be bought here. Chris Cornell flew toward the sun with 2009's Scream but he got burned. The Timbaland-produced album marked a sudden shift toward electronic pop, a move that did not sit well with either critics or Cornell's audience, but he didn't react swiftly to the derision. He moved slowly, revisiting his catalog on 2011's Songbook and then reuniting with Soundgarden before releasing Higher Truth some six years after Scream. Hiring producer Brendan O'Brien, a fellow veteran of the grunge wars of the '90s, suggests Cornell is backpedaling from the chilly electro surfaces of hi. Hes pensive and tender over Nick Drake-style guitars on Through the Window, and digs in deep with his impassioned howl on gentle rocker Worried Moon. Released: Sep 2015. Label: UMe Direct 2. Its been six years since Cornell has graced us with a solo album, and this time out he decided to stick with what has served him best: Thoughtful arrangements that succeed in showcasing his abilities as a singer and songwriter. Its a relief Cornell stuck with this tact on Higher Truth, given the often uneven work he put out as the Soundgarden sequel Audioslave and his perplexing hip-hop inflected solo album Scream. At its best, Higher Truth showcases Cornells vocals on ballads Josephine and the plea. Genre: Pop Rock. Probably my favorite Cornell solo album. I really enjoyed his venturing into acoustic territory in his later years. I think the first 9 songs on Higher Truth are top notch. The tail end of the album does ease up a little bit, but this is an album that I've come back to a lot since it came out and I've even come to love the weaker songs. Its among Cornell's best work since the start of the new millennium. Key tracks: Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart, Dead Wishes, Worried Moon, Before We Disappear,. read more
