From the death drug pink and brown split on load records featuring members of Le Shok this track is pretty funky coming from those guys Property of load Magnetic marks the groups split with producer Bob Rock, who helmed every Metallica album from 1991 to 2004 and pushed them toward concision and immediacy - until St. Anger, when he seemed to throw up his hands altogether. And its not as if Top 40 stations were going to slip in Metallica between Chris Brown and the Jonas Brothers, anyway. Shame Fantasy II. CD - Load Records LOAD 043. Overview . Unsurprising, this makes for a 22-song album spiralling from razor-crazed grooves and noise to sludgy, sometimes amateurish experimentation. Early tracks like Enter Officer, Exit Wound sear with energy, though recorded badly enough that the tight, scrappy noise sounds distant and somewhat untouchable. Guitarist John Dwyer and drummer Jeff Rosenberg go under the monikers Pink and Brown, respectively, for their intense noise duo. This wrecking crew may be more traditionally structured and accessible than a group like Lightning Bolt, but their disturbed rants and raucous cacophony is equally as destructive. Shame Fantasy II, released by Load in 2003 amidst rumors of the group being disbanded, collects the songs from the bands first two releases, as well as five new songs, for a single mind-thrashing record of their entire spastic and destructive discography.
